O, for the gift of wit - Mahatma Gandhi A lovely little anecdote, about one of life's more interesting characters. When Mahatma Gandhi was studying law at the University College of London a white professor; whose last name was Peters, disliked him intensely and always displayed prejudice and animosity towards him! Also, because Gandhi never lowered his head when addressing him as he expected; there were always "arguments" and confrontations! One day; Mr. Peter`s was having lunch at the dining room of the University, and Gandhi came along with his tray and sat next to the professor. The professor said: "Mr Gandhi, you do not understand. A pig and a bird do not sit together to eat." Gandhi looked at him as a parent would a rude child and calmly replied: "You do not worry professor. I'll fly away." and he went and sat at another table. Mr. Peters; reddened with rage, decided to take revenge on the next test paper, but Gandhi responded brilliantly to all questions. Mr. Peters; unhappy and frustrated, asked him the following question. "Mr Gandhi, if you were walking down the street and found a package, and within was a bag of wisdom and another bag with a lot of money, which one would you take?" Without hesitating; Gandhi responded, "The one with the money, of course." Mr. Peters; smiling sarcastically said: "I, in your place, would have taken the wisdom." Gandhi shrugged indifferently and responded: "Each one takes what he doesn't have." Mr. Peters; by this time was fuming. So great was his anger that he wrote on Gandhi's exam sheet the word "idiot" and gave it to Gandhi. Gandhi took the exam sheet and sat down at his desk, trying very hard to remain calm while he contemplated his next move. A few minutes later; Gandhi got up, went to the professor and said to him in a dignified but sarcastically polite tone: "Mr. Peters, you autographed the sheet, but you did not give me the grade." Whether this is a true story or not... I think you will relate to it on many levels (smile). Have a Vibrational day, Debbie A. Anderson Today marks the 13th anniversary of September 11, 2001 a day when more tragedy fell upon your world. Sadly when a disaster takes many from earth, your soul awakens to see the truth that is within you. This awareness is a change that has to happen for peace to occur within and without the vibration of your life, your world. You are the guardians within our Universe. We invite you all to be part of the vibrational change to heal your planet. As part of your journey you will undertake many experiences. See many events unfold before you, some that will bring the vibration of joy, others that will make you want to cry and give up upon your fellow man. Don’t despair, these are human experiences and feelings, part of the path the earth chose. This is why you are here at this Universal time. This moment in time is associated with the number 13 (1+3) which is the vibration of the energy of inner wisdom, patience and the building of solid foundations. It is the passion and drive within you and your world- both positive and negative. This number resonates with the sense of renewal and sharing of knowledge. It is the voice from within that doesn’t strike out with anger but with compassion and understanding manifesting into practical reality. This responsibility is not easy, and can be unpleasant in a self-sacrificing way, so be aware of this element, honour it, but don’t take it to heart. The firm foundations that you build within this time is about patience and persistence without becoming an oppressor or bully. The vibration of endurance creates serenity and harmony. Manifest changes in a creative and harmonic vibration through the use of your voice – spoken or words sung share the spiritual realms of cooperation, thus opening the gateway to illumination. We on the spirit plane are guiding many of you into awareness of change. A transition that has been opening up for the past five years with a vibrational change that brings natural order back to earth. This transformation is not simple or easy to accomplish. But with us all working together without judgement or negative thoughts the vibration is lifted to a higher plane of order. Remember this day with others, but hold the hope that universal change is within your own soul. Channelled by “The Centre of A” September 11, 2014 to Debbie A. Anderson Yesterday I was out golfing with my hubby Chris. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, just right, as the baby bear in Goldilocks would say. We try to get out at least once a week (if not more) to embrace both the joy of exercise and the bliss of relaxing. And, Yes, amazingly enough, I have now come to the place of acceptance that even though I am still learning, I can play a round of golf and just have fun! My week to that point had been a little busier than other weeks. Working on the children’s deck, which is a blessing, but when you self-publish there is more to coordinate than just achieving the writing. But now that spirit have sent me both an amazing illustrator and graphic setter, I know that it is all coming together as it should. I had an increase in readings, which I am privileged to undertake, and this week had brought myself and others a great deal of proof from spirit. Which brings me to my latest project, which seems to be guided by the direction of those around me, who see more in me than I am ready to embrace. Organizing an evening of clairvoyance, something I have not done before and was in my own way, feeling the apprehension of whether this was the right time to extend myself to working with a group rather than individuals. I suppose you could say I was pondering whether spirit really wanted this to happen or not, even though the loving people I have in my life at the moment seemed sure it was the right time. Yes, I like everyone questions myself, it is called being human. For me it is about the humility of being who I am. So, while playing my golf I asked spirit whether this upcoming event, which I felt should be for a charitable cause, was something they truly wanted to emerge. My cell vibrated, and I answered it hearing the voice of another person wanting to add more people to the evening’s list. This small event was now full and on thanking spirit in my heart, I heard Chris say, “wow, look at that” pointing to the sky “I have never seen a full circle sun dog before”. I looked upwards to see this phenomenon of circular glowing around the sun with further circles creating like an aura or halo effect. This process is known, I found out later, as a tri-fractory rainbow, because the light is refracted three times before it is finally observed. The sun dog is a rare marvel that was named by Native Americans, a name that is now used by scientists around the world. At that moment I felt so connected with the Universal source I almost wanted to cry. I felt like my whole soul was connected and aligned with the energy of my world and that peace and hope were within my own spirit. For me, it felt like spirit were giving me the thumbs up that everything I was doing was just as it should be, just when it should be. Being open and perceptively conscious of the messages we are sent, can help reconnect us to our soul purpose. I hope that you see your own sun dogs, if not in reality then within yourself. Being witness to such a vibrational miracle made me feel more connected and aligned than ever before. For this I am blessed. Written by Debbie A. Anderson Whether this story is true or not, it beautifully offers us the opportunity to accept that we are not always aware of the influence we can have on someone else’s life….. When I was a young boy, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighbourhood. I remember the polished black case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my mother talked to it. Then I discovered that somewhere inside the wonderful device lived an amazing person. Her name was "Information Please" and there was nothing she did not know. "Information Please" knew anyone's number and the correct time. My personal experience with the genie-in-a-bottle came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor. Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked my finger with a hammer. The pain was terrible, but there seemed no point in crying because there was no one home to offer sympathy. I walked around the house sucking my throbbing finger, finally arriving at the stairway. The telephone! Quickly, I ran for the footstool in the parlor and dragged it to the landing. Climbing up, I unhooked the receiver in the parlor and held it to my ear. "Information, please," I said into the mouthpiece just above my head. A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into my ear: "Information." "I hurt my finger..." I wailed into the phone, and the tears came readily enough now that I had an audience. "Isn't your mother home?" came the question. "Nobody's home but me," I blubbered. "Are you bleeding?" the voice asked. "No," I replied. "I hit my finger with the hammer and it really hurts1" "Can you open the icebox?" she asked. I said I could. "Then chip off a little bit of ice and hold it onto your finger," said the kindly voice. After that, I called "Information Please" for everything. I asked her for help with my geography, and she told me where Philadelphia was. She helped me with my maths. She told me my pet chipmunk that I had caught in the park just the day before, would eat fruit and nuts. Then there was the time Pete, our pet canary, died. I called, "Information Please," and told her the sad story. She listened, and then said things grown-ups say to soothe a child. But I was not consoled. I asked her, "Why is it that birds should sing so beautifully and bring joy to people, only to end up as a heap of feathers on the bottom of a cage?" She must have sensed my deep concern, for she said quietly, "Wayne, always remember that there are other worlds to sing in." Somehow I felt better. Another day I was on the telephone, "Information, please!" "Information," came the response in the now familiar voice. "How do I spell fix?" I asked. All this took place in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. When I was nine years old, we moved across the country to Boston. I missed my friend very much. "Information, please," belonged in that old wooden box back home and I somehow never thought of trying the shiny new phone that sat on the table in the hall. As I grew into my teens, the memories of those childhood conversations never really left me. Often, in moments of doubt and perplexity I would recall the serene sense of security I had then. I appreciated now how patient, understanding, and kind she was to have spent her time on a little boy. A few years later, on my way west to college, my plane stopped over in Seattle. I had about a half-hour or so between planes.’ so I spent 15 minutes or so on the phone with my sister, who lived there. Then without thinking what I was doing, I dialed my hometown operator and said, "Information, please!" Miraculously, I heard the small, clear voice I knew so well. "Information." I hadn't planned this, but I heard myself asking, "Could you please tell me how to spell fix?" There was a long pause. Then came the soft-spoken answer, "I guess your finger must have healed by now." I laughed, "So it's really you," I said. "I wonder if you have any idea how much you meant to me during that time?" "I wonder," she said, "if you know how much your call meant to me. I never had any children of my own and I used to look forward to your calls." I told her how often I had thought of her over the years and asked if I could call her again when I came back to visit my sister. "Please do," she said. "Just ask for Sally." Three months later I was back in Seattle. A different voice answered, "Information. "I asked for Sally. "Are you a friend?" she asked. "Yes, a very old friend," I answered. "I'm sorry to have to tell you this," she said. "Sally had been working part-time the last few years because she was not well. She died five weeks ago." Before I could hang up, she asked, "Wait a minute, did you say your name was Wayne ?" "Yes," I answered. "Well, Sally left a message for you. She wrote it down in case you called. Let me read it to you." The note said, "Tell him there are other worlds to sing in. He'll know what I mean." I thanked her and hung up. I knew what Sally meant. Never underestimate the impression you may make on others. Whose life have you vibrationally touched today? Posted by Debbie A. Anderson We all have heard that saying "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you”. So picture this, driving along a country road, the crystal clear sky just turning to the richness of night with the moon almost in her completeness just two days away from being a “super moon” and the air cooling down from another hot summer day. My day had not been completely as planned, but sometimes life just happens so you have the opportunity to take from it the blessings. As my eyes watched the moon lighting up the sky I made a simple request. One day I would love to see fireflies……… Within moments my eyes caught glimpses of flecks of silver & bright white sparkling lanterns in the long grasses alongside the road. Really? This quickly? As I watched the cascading display before my eyes I knew these fireflies were a symbol, a sign!! Even if I was clueless they depicted a simplistic principal, their illumination was in essence a beautiful and vibrational display of play shining back at me in the darkness that was filling the void. The firefly shines from the inside out, showing us that the beauty within us can inspire and motivate us if we accept and embrace it. They, like us can be the strand of hope when everything feels impossible illuminating the way out of the darkness into the light. As I eased back into my seat I knew I had been blessed with this amazing spectacle of divine fascination and marvel. I am thankful for every miracle that is bestowed upon me. As Arthur Conan Doyle said “His sanguine spirit turns every firefly into a star.” Synchronicity my dear friends is not an accidental opportunity, but the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear significantly connected. It is the foundation of cause and effect. Go out today and ask for something vibrational, then open your eyes and see your own fireflies!! Written by Debbie A. Anderson |
