![]() Sometimes great people do amazing things! Sometimes we are blessed to see and experience it in our lifetime! Nelson Rolihahla Mandela was born on July 18, 1918. If he were still alive today we would be wishing him a happy 96th Birthday. He was a political activist & philanthropist who helped dismantle apartheid in South Africa and served as president from 1994-99. He was revered as a world leader, showing us all that fighting for what is right is not always easy, but if you try hard enough, you can preserve. He died on December 5, 2013. “No one is born hating another person because of the colour of their skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love for love comes more naturally to the human heart than it’s opposite. What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others. That will determine the significance of the life we lead! Education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world. For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others. The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall”. Nelson Mandela. When he spoke, his words were profound, touching and powerful. Sometimes it is not for us to learn from others but to lead the way and do something for ourselves and the world around us. I hope that “sometime” comes into your life and you are ready to embrace it and create the transformations needed!! Written by Debbie A. Anderson
